Zircon on Matrix, Sapat Gali, Kaghan Valley, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan
Exceptionally well crystallized, square prismatic Zircon crystal perched atop leucocratic quartzofeldspathic crystalline groundmass. A gemmy translucent beveled termination overtops the basal pyramid. Facet-like crystal faces present adamantine luster with sharp edgework. Crystal is virtually perfect with one minor bird nick on the back side at the base, of no consequence to the principle aspect. Very attractive! The specimen is free-standing.
Dimensions: 5.5 x 5.4 x 3.5 cm with crystal measuring 1.5 x 1.4 x 1 cm.
