Vanadinite, Apache Mine, Gila County, Arizona, USA
A sparkly, glistening TN richly appointed with gemmy, translucent, deep red-orange Vanadinite crystals from the world-class Apache Mine. The Apache Mine vanadinites are highly sought after by collectors. The locality is highlighted in an article authored by Wendell Wilson in The Mineralogical Record (Min. Rec. 11-12/71). The old typewritten label appears to date from the 1970s or earlier. This specimen has been uncirculated since at least the 1980s.
