Tennantite with Quartz, Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia
A sculptural cluster of ten or so black to dark gray interpenetrating Tennantite crystals with tetrahedron crystals up to 2 cm long on edge. The pyramidal crystals are well-formed (uncommon for Tsumeb), presenting textbook habit. There is some clipping evident on the underside (non-presentation side) of the piece; however, it does not distract from the aspect afforded by this self-standing specimen. Minor quartz association. Acquired from Clive Queit in the mid-1980s. Good, well-formed tennantite clusters are not common on the market.
