An eye-catching thumbnail of a gemmy, translucent orange-red spessartine crystal embedded in a thin sheet of highly lustrous, transparent muscovite from the Villeneuve mine in Quebec. Spessartine crystals in the muscovite are not common at this locality. Transparent crystals such as this one are even more rare.
