A large and well-crystallized, silvery metal-red rutile from the world-class Graves Mountain locality (The Mineralogical Record, V 16, No 6, pp:443-458). The rutile crystal presents textbook habit on the presentation aspect front and sides, with contacting in the back. Interestingly, the base presents terraced twin gliding as a potential consequence of deformation as the crystal was formed. The locality is largely closed to collecting but for one sanctioned dig per year, with finds of this size and quality very infrequent.
