A very old specimen of black pyrolusite from the ancient Eisenkaute Mine. Specimens from this locality are extremely rare as According to a mindat photo posted by Brian Kosnar (Mineral Classics) it did not produce a great deal of material but, “historically, it did produce some really impressive iron and manganese oxides, including some of the coolest pyrolusites I've seen from Germany.”
