Devilline (Herrengrundite), Banská Bystrica (Neusohl), Slovakia RARE
Beautiful, translucent blue-green "rosettes" of tabular, lustrous Develline on matrix. Devilline, a rare calcium-copper sulfate hydroxyl hydrate, is one of the most desirable of the classic "antique" copper species of Europe, and has been described as one of the Holy Grails for collectors of old European classic minerals and demanding systematic collectors. The Banská Bystrica (Neusohl) District is one of the most historic mining districts of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire and has evidence of mining going back to Neolithic times. This mineral species is rarely seen in discrete crystals. Sourced from an uncirculated 40-year old collection.
