Cyanotrichite with Brochantite, Grandview Mine, Coconino County, Arizona, USA
Cyanotrichite is an uncommon, highly coveted copper silicate. The now-off-limits Grandview Mine is now part of the Grand Canyon National Park. Minerals from this locality can no longer be collected. Specimens sourced from this long-defunct mine are considered the finest from Arizona. This Cyanotrichite specimen consists of dozens of stunning, bright blue radiating "sprays" with dark green Brochantite, lighter green Malachite, and pale blue fibrous crystals of Chalcoalumite, all set within a lovely, contrasting light brown limonitic gossan.
