Chatoyant Malachite after Baryte, Shangulowe Mine, Katanga, DRC RARE and CHOICE!
A very rare pseudomorph of platy, pine green malachite after baryte, with secondary growths of shimmering acicular (needle-like) crystals. The locality produced the best baryte crystal clusters in the Congo; however, specimens are relatively uncommon. These malachite after baryte pseudomorphs appeared in Tuson in the early 2000s, but none have since. This seldom-seen, exceptional, and showy specimen is, IMHO, competition-class.
