Baryte, Shangulowé Mine, Kambove, Lualaba, DRC RARE and CHOICE
A dramatic, glistening, asymmetrical sheaf-like spray of fine, gemmy, translucent to water-clear blue grey baryte crystals presenting classic habit and chisel-tip terminations. The crystals have superb luster, with a few inclusions of malachite. A few of the crystals are clipped, but the overall presentation remains superb. According to Mindat, the locality (now exhausted) produced the best baryte crystal clusters in Congo. Specimens from this classic locality have largely disappeared into connoisseurs’ collections, and only rarely come on the market.
Dimensions: 51 x 20 x 20 mm with individual crystals exceeding 2 cm.
