Well-formed, royal blue azurite crystals with a blocky, striated prismatic habit, complemented by white to colorless calcite rhombohedra. The groundmass fluoresces a diffuse pastel yellow-orange @320 nm. There is a minor association with a bright yellow mineral of indeterminate identification. This piece was sourced in the 1980s from the noteworthy South African dealer and collector Clive Queit, who would meet the miners at the mine exit during shift change to acquire the choicest and most unusual pieces. It has remained uncirculated in a private collection since acquisition.
