A richly appointed, self-standing cabinet specimen presenting beautiful, well-formed, deep indigo blue azurite blades, arranged en-echelon and as glistening radiating sprays, against a complementary yellow-green gossan matrix. Mirror-like faces are accented by sublime parallel striations and super sharp edge work. The crystal habit is exemplary. Sourced in the 1980s from the noteworthy South African dealer and collector Clive Quiet, who would meet the miners at the mine exit during shift change to acquire the choicest and most unusual pieces. This self-standing specimen is complete all around, well-preserved, and has been uncirculated in a private collection since acquisition over forty years ago.
